My name is Temoatzin Cruz Golden. I was born in Mexico and I was about a year old when I came to the United States. Fun fact: I was born with my umbilical cord strangling me. My first language is Spanish and I learned to speak English in kindergarten and in first grade. I currently go to middle school and am in “welcome warriors” where bilingual children help monolingual children get around in school. My mother is American and my dad is Mexican.
One of the main reasons that I joined WORD ON THE STREET was because I am interested in what happens in my community and I want to help my community the best I can. I would like to see a decrease in racial stereotypes because it usually leads to the splitting off to different groups. This can also lead to people then believing that they can’t do what somebody else can do. In conclusion, a change I would like to see in the world would be no more racial stereotypes.
